Social Responsability

For the sake of society, culture and sustainability.

Throughout its history, Koy Lab has been actively engaged in contributing to the development of economic, social and humanitarian domains, supporting cultural, sustainable and educational initiatives.

Koy Lab seeks, in all its actions, to be:

  • Humanely correct: supporting philanthropic causes that through our business can improve the quality of life of underprivileged communities;
  • Economically viable: having as motto the creation of its own machinery in a self-sustaining perspective;
  • Socially fair: always promoting equality;
  • Culturally active: constantly seeking to support cultural movements linked to photography, with a special focus on education.

These principles are an integral part of Koy Lab’s operations, and a pillar of reference for the company’s position in the market.

Projects we support

MY 1st CAMERA (Art Kids Foundation)

Participatory Photography Project conducted by Art Kids Foundation in partnership with SlumSoka, open to all female and male children residing in Kibera slum, Nairobi. It’s objectives are to enable participants to discover the power of photography as a tool for communication and to understand how they can use this potential to communicate their own stories and ideas. To encourage participants to believe in the importance of their voice and the value of their way of seeing. To draw attention to the need to improve living conditions for children and families from Kibera slum. Participants include 9 children living in Kibera slum aged from 7 to 14 years old, that have never used a camera before. The children  have full ownership of the photos and have the right to decide which ones will be used for public display.
